Share the Magic! Check out the Close to My Heart October Stamp of the Month Blog Hop

Oh my goodness!  I cannot believe that it is already October.  Well it is time to welcome you to the Close to My Heart October Stamp of the Month Blog Hop!  We are featuring the October Stamp of the Month, Share the Magic, a set of 12 stamps.  Share the Magic is only available during the month of October.

If you have arrived from Lori Brown's Blog you are on the right path.  This month we have over 65 Close to My Heart Consultants sharing their creations using the October Stamp of the Month and other great Close to My Heart products on their blogs.  Following the Blog Hop is simple to do - just click on the link at the end of the post on each blog to move to the next one.  So, here we go!

Share the Magic is an adorable stamp set.  I am not a big fan of coloring in images and I could not figure out what card pattern I wanted to use.  I woke up this morning (procrastination is a normal attribute for me) and knew that I wanted to make a Christmas Stair Step card.  I am going to try and talk my customers into making this during our Christmas Card Workshop on October 16th or 17th.  And here is my card!

The reindeer on the front is stamped on Desert Sand cardstock that has been sanded. It gives the look of fur to me.  I paper pieced the nose and tongue with the red side of the Mistletoe Creative Basics B & Ts.
The next step has Santa on it. I adhered the same red B & T onto a square of Cocoa cardstock.  Then I stamped and cut out Santa.  I paper pierced Santa's head with Colonial White cardstock and his mittens and sack with B & T paper from CTMH's My Reflections Mistletoe Level 2 Paper Pack.  I colored in Santa's face with my Blender Pen and Parchment Ink.  I also added rosy cheeks with my Blush Ink Pad and the Blender Pen.  Can't have a pasty Santa, can we?  Using Liquid Applique I covered Santa's cuffs and the pom pom on his hat and then I covered the Liquid Applique with Fun Flock.  I colored Santa's boots and belt with my black marker and then embossed Santa's belt buckle with Silver Pearl embossing powder.

The tree next to Santa was first stamped on Cocoa cardstock and then on the green B & T from Mistletoe Creative Basics.  I cut the needles part of the tree out of the green and adhered it to the Cocoa tree after cutting it out.  I then decorated my tree with blue and green and purple and red sparkles.  I just love bling!

The last step has the Share the Magic sentiment also decorated with clear sparkles.  So pretty and eye catching.

This was a fun card to make and I hope you enjoy looking at it!

Sign up Now for the Acrylic Album Workshop!

I want to show you some pictures of the Acrylic Album that we will be making on October 2nd (from 10 am-5 pm) and October 3rd (from 11 am - 5 pm).
These pictures are from the Stardust Paper Pack (retired).
A customer of mine, Candy Perlin, made this at one of my previous workshops.

The pictures are not in yet, but I can tell you that once they were, this album was absolutely adorable.
There is no stamping in this workshop.  All of your paper is cut for you.
I would love to take credit for the design, but the original designer is Jennifer Bennett, a fellow CTMH consultant.  I have adapted the design so that you can choose whichever paper pack that you want to use.  Each album comes out totally different.  Can you see the rub-ons that are used here?
These adorable acrylic albums are on our Retiring List and are available while supplies last only.
The cost of this workshop is $35.  With this you get this album in your choice of CTMH My Reflections Level 2 Paper (I even have some of the retired paper that you can use), lunch, and a beverage.  I also provide embellishments, rub-ons, and ribbon to complete your album as well as ink so that you can ink your edges if you choose to.
All of your paper is pre-cut for you.  You just put it together!
Please RSVP to me at (901) 850-1836 or mkgmt@aol.com by September 24th.  I also take orders for kits that I can send to you if you cannot attend the workshop.  Just contact me if you are interested in the prices (including shipping).

Hooligans Workshop on the Go

Check out this adorable layout I made with the Hooligans' Workshop On the Go!

Here's another view of the left side:

Here is a close-up of the right side of the layout:

Isn't this layout absolutely adorable?  I am offering this workshop during the month of October.  There are two dates to choose from:  October 8th from 6 pm - 9 pm or October 19th from 6 pm - 9 pm.

The cost of the workshop is $40 and includes the Workshop on the Go kit, dinner, and a beverage.  For this workshop I am offering a special.  You can come to the Workshop on October 8th and make this scrapbook page and then you can come on October 19th for an additional $5 and make the cards in the Workshop on the Go guide.  The pictures of the cards are found further down.

Please RSVP for this workshop at (901) 850-1836 or to mkgmt@aol.com by September 29th for the October 8th Workshop or by October 10th for the October 19th Workshop.

The Workshop kit includes the following:
    1 – My Reflections
® Level 2 Paper Packet
    1 – My Acrylix
® B-size Stamp Set (available only through the workshop!)
1 – Full Package of an Accessory
1 – Full-Color Workshop Guide (containing both the scrapbooking and cardmaking workshop options)

Here are the cards that you can make at this workshop:

The card on the left is one of the additional project cards that you can make.  The one on the right you can make at our October Workshop.

Here are two more cards from the additional projects that you can make with this Workshop on the Go.

The scrapbooking workshop features a layout (two pages) using a brand new pattern from Jeanette Lynton. It focuses on stamping and creative use of accessories.  The cardmaking workshop features six cards created from one new pattern by Jeanette Lynton. Guests make two of each of the three different cards shown in the guide. Each pair of cards uses a rotated version of the pattern, giving them their own unique look.
Will one workshop project use all of the supplies in the Workshop Kit?
No. You will have remaining product to continue the fun! After creating the workshop project (either layout or cards), you will have enough remaining product to create either the other workshop project (layout or cards) or to create one of the additional projects shown online (either the additional layout or six cards). Specifically, those who create the scrapbook workshop can then make either the card workshop project or the additional layout. Those who create the card workshop can then make either the scrapbook workshop project or the additional six cards. This means that you can end up with a variety of beautiful artwork: either two 2-page layouts, a 2-page layout and six cards, or 12 cards, all using the items in their Workshop Kit. It's a great value!
What are the additional projects available as part of the Workshops on the Go™ program?
Since the Workshop Kits and accessories come with full packages of paper and embellishments, you can complete the workshop and still have materials remaining. The additional projects (pictured online) include a scrapbook layout and a six-card project.
Where can you find the additional scrapbooking and cardmaking projects?
Details for the additional projects can be found through your MyCTMH
® website or CloseToMyHeart.com under Ideas & Inspiration > Workshops on the Go™. There, you can view complete recipes for the additional projects as well as full-color photos and helpful hints for creating those projects. You are invited to consult the how-to book for detailed assembly instructions.

September Close to My Heart Spotlight Blog Hop - Using Dimensional Elements

Welcome to the Close to My Heart September Spotlight Blog Hop!  If you have found yourself here from Toni Hinchcliffe's Blog then you are in the right place.  This month we are spotlighting our wonderful and versatile Dimensional Elements.  I needed a birthday card for my granddaughter, and wanted a very special one, so here it is!

For my card, I used the My Reflections Hooligans Level 2 Paper Pack. Can you believe that this is a Halloween paper pack?  That is why I just love our paper packs.  They are not just for one type of holiday or event.  I found this pattern in our Wishes book and made it different by using it on a clear acrylic card.  You use the acrylic card's transparency to layer your design.  Once you get the hang of it, you will love it.  An acrylic card has a WOW factor to it as well.

The Dimensional Element that I used came from Framed Fun.  It is the label holder with my sentiment on it.  It was meant to be a ribbon holder, but I cut off and sanded the parts that you thread your ribbon through.  Then I covered it with patterned paper from Hooligans, inked the edges with black and adhered it to the card.  I just use my tombow adhesive tape to adhere the paper to the acrylic card and it holds well.

What do you think of all of the bling?  A crown has to have jewels and my granddaughter loves purple and pink.  I think her mother might tell her that she cannot be the Queen for the Day because that position is already taken, but I sure hope she loves receiving this card on her 9th birthday.  Happy Birthday Jocelyn!
Here is another view of my card.

I don't know if you can see it, but I inked the edges of my acrylic card with Black Stazon Ink.  The regular black ink will wipe off of the acrylic cards.  I also stippled black ink onto the Gypsy Purple Cardstock strip beneath the crown.  Thanks for visiting my Blog!
