Don't Miss Cyber Monday at Close to My Heart!
December Stamp of the Month Blog Hop - Cutie Pie
The December Stamp of the Month is entitled Cutie Pie (S1412) (Set of 11). Here is a picture of this stamp set:
I am so excited by this stamp set. Who doesn't love cupcakes? My best friend is a cake decorator and this card has her name all over it. Her birthday is coming up in December and she has proven herself to be card worthy. Me and my peeps refer to someone who handles our artwork with reverence and would never EVER consider depositing one of our cards into the garbage as card worthy. My friend keeps my card to decorate her desk at work. Truly card worthy! Here is her birthday card.
I started working on this card last night. Yep, I thrive on the thrill of a fast approaching deadline. Winter has just started and I am already looking forward to Spring. So I picked the bright, Springlike colors of our new paper pack called Heartstrings, which you can purchase from our new Seasonal Expressions 1 Catalog on December 1st.
I wanted to fully use the stamp set, so the first thing I did was to use the word stamps to stamp around the edge of the Cranberry cardstock using Black pigment ink. Pigment ink gives you a more vibrant look than dye ink and I wanted the words to stand out.
I am loving the Heartstrings paper pack. I love the book print patterned paper in it as well as all of the vibrant colors. I stamped the cake stand right on the patterned paper and colored it with the ShinHan Twin Markers in the two shades of grey that we carry. Then I went over the greys with our Colorless Blender to blend the greys together and it gave the cake stand the look of glass. Isn't it wonderful when something works even better than you expected it to?
For the cupcake frosting, I couldn't blend the reds and pinks the way I normally do because it kept bleeding into the paper. So I adapted and colored first with the Tender Pink and then let it dry a few minutes. Then I added the Carmine marker to the top of the Pink. Adding markers on top of each other changes the color and gives you additional colors. I did that with the chocolate cupcake as well when I colored first with Clay and then added Mahogany. Now that is a perfect chocolate cupcake!
See the sprinkles in the frosting? That came from "dotting" the colorless blender randomly over the frosting. It removes a little of the color and adds a pattern.
The inside of the card is stamped as well. I added a few hearts cut from the patterned paper and a strip of a different patterned paper to the side.
Thank you for visiting my blog. I would love for you to show me a little love by leaving me a comment and then please go to our next artist, {Sheila Bennett's Blog} and see what she has made with this adorable stamp set.
The Cutie Pie Stamp Set can be purchased for $17.95 or if you purchase $50 in CTMH products, you can add this stamp set to your order for an additional $5. This stamp set is only available between December 1 – December 31, 2014.
You can purchase this stamp set as well as any of the supplies listed below on my website.

I want to show you what I have been working on. This is not my design. It was designed and featured at the Silent Auction at our 2014 Close to My Heart Convention by the very talented Lisa Stenz. I added the acorns!
The leaves are in two pieces. The back "whole" leaf is cut in chocolate. The overlays are cut in Olive cardstock, Autumn Terracotta cardstock, or the yellow/orange patterned paper from the Pathfinding paper pack. I adhered the leaves with either Liquid Glass or if I wanted some dimension, I used our 3D Foam Tape.
The tree and the sentiment are cut out five times and glued together with Bonding Memories glue. I ran my brayer over them to make sure that there were no air bubbles between the layers.
The owl, pumpkin and squirrel came from the Pathfinding Complements.
My artwork is displayed in our new Designed Decor Colonial White Frame. I am making different pieces of artwork to display in my frame and changing them out with the seasons or holidays.
I want to thank you for visiting my blog. The next very talented artist for you to visit on our blog hop is {Denise Elliott}.

Have you visited the stores in the past week? Well, it's beginning to look a lot like Christmas! And it is time to get a jump on making Christmas cards.
The Close to My Heart Cricut Artfully Sent cartridge has 700 images on it. This is an incredible cartridge for cardmakers and paired with my Cricut Explore, I am amazed at what I can make and how fast I can create.
There are 400 projects on this cartridge plus envelopes plus an alphabet. You can use the overlays on your scrapbooking pages or your 3D items. Plus you can edit your images in Cricut Craft Room or Design Space and design entirely new images.
The Artfully Sent Collection not only has the Cricut cartridge, but you also receive 3 full size stamp sets and a package of White Daisy cardstock (24 pieces) to get you started.
My card pattern can be found on page 49 of the Artfully Sent Handbook, and the inside of the card came from page 48. I wanted to make a non-traditional Christmas card. I found my color palette inspiration while driving to pick up my granddaughter. I saw a house with these colors and decided to use them in my card
I used our Yuletide Carol paper pack and added some touches of Gold Glitter paper and Gold Shimmer Trim.
Here is my card.
