SWAA Focus On Charlotte/Easter Blog Hop

Welcome to February's Stampers with an Attitude Blog Hop.    Who are the Stampers with an Attitude?  It is the Close to My Heart team lead by my fabulous upline, Kimberly Moss. This month I am following  {Jen Patrick.}

This month we are spotlighting Easter artwork or the Charlotte Paper Pack.  Our blog hop is a circular hop.  You just click on the link to the next blog at the bottom of this post and go visit the next blog.  If you get lost, I have all of the participating blogs listed at the bottom of my post.  Hope you enjoy seeing what our team has made for you.

I have been wanting to use the stag image from Woodland Romance (D1683).  It is such a strong, elegant image and I thought it paired well with the Charlotte Paper Pack.

Here is my card:

I started designing this card without any idea of how the finished project was going to look.  I knew that I wanted to pull out my watercolors and do a watercolor wash on the paper I stamped the stag image on.  After the panel had tried, I splattered some more watercolors onto the panel.  Then I stamped the stag with Memento Ink.  Do you see the spots on the stag?  For some reason the watercolor splotches did not get covered with the black ink.  I was getting ready to re - stamp the stag, hoping that I matched it up well, when my grandson told me not to.  He liked it that way.

I went to Pinterest to find some inspiration and found a card I liked and decided to CAS it.  It is designed by Christy Fulk.

I love all of the patterned papers found in Charlotte and used almost all of them in my card.

I want to thank you for visiting my blog.  The next very talented artist for you to visit on our blog hop is {Catherine Nowak}.

    The Seasonal Expressions 1 New Product Blog Hop

    Welcome to the Close to My Heart
    Seasonal Expressions 1 New Product Blog Hop

    This hop I am following {Melissa Robinson's Blog.}   We have 24 Close to My Heart Consultants participating in our Close to My Heart Seasonal Expressions 1 New Product Blog Hop.   If you lose your place while traveling through our blog hop, the complete list of participants can be found here.    Thank you for hopping through our Blog Hop.

    Seasonal Expressions 1 is our new mini catalog that went live on January 1st.  With this catalog, our new product line called Thin Cuts was debuted.  Using your favorite die cutting machine, Thin Cuts cuts out a coordinated stamp set, also found in this catalog.  No more fussy cutting or having to pull out the Cricut for one card.  Loving the versatility of this new product!

    I used our new Regatta Paper Pack, along with the My Anchor Stamp Set (C1642), and the My Anchor Thin Cuts (Z3202) to make my card.

    What do you think?  I always need a "So Sorry for your loss" card, so this will be placed in my stash until the next time I need one.

    The blue shadow on the light house was made with our watercolor pencils.  And before I forget, I used the Sketch Saturday Pattern # 395 and I am linking this post to that challenge.

    Thank you for visiting my blog.

    By the way, I would love for you to leave me a comment and then please go to our next artist, {Catherine Nowak's Blog.}

    SWAA La Vie en Rose Blog Hop

    Welcome to January's Stampers with an Attitude Blog Hop.    Who are the Stampers with an Attitude?  It is the Close to My Heart team lead by my fabulous upline, Kimberly Moss. This month I am following  {Jen Patrick.}

    This month we are featuring the La Vie en Rose paper pack.  Our blog hop is a circular hop.  You just click on the link to the next blog at the bottom of this post and go visit the next blog.  If you get lost, I have all of the participating blogs listed at the bottom of my post.  Hope you enjoy seeing what our team has made for you.

    La Vie en Rose literally means "Life in Pink".  A better translation might be "Life through rose-colored glasses".    And this paper has a whole lot of roses on one of its patterned papers.  Many people find the rose pattern to take over their artwork, but I decided to embrace it and use it as the main paper on my card.  I love all of the colors in this paper and I love the strong black and white patterns that accent and showcase this paper.

    I found this adorable card pattern and was inspired to use it in my card.

    And here is my card:

    I stamped the February Stamp of the Month outline stamp in Cranberry Ink.  The shading stamp was inked in Pixie Ink and then I sponge daubed Pomegranate and Hollyhock ink onto the stamp in random places on the stamp and stamped into the smooth center of the embossed White Daisy panel.  I used our Circle Diffuser to leave the smooth center when I embossed the panel with our Damask Embossing folder.

    I added some of our new Black and Gold ribbon and a heart from the  La Vie en Rose Complements. Oh and don't forget the scalloped Black Shimmer trim I added!

    I want to thank you for visiting my blog.  The next very talented artist for you to visit on our blog hop is {Catherine Nowak}.

      Close to My Heart National Papercrafting Blog Hop - Live Your Day

      Welcome to the Close to My Heart
      National Papercrafting - Live Your Day Blog Hop

      This hop I am following {Wendy Kessler's Blog.}   We have almost 20 Close to My Heart Consultants participating in our Close to My Heart Simply Fundamentals Blog Hop.   If you lose your place while traveling through our blog hop, the complete list of participants can be found here.    Thank you for hopping through our Blog Hop.

      Celebrate National Papercrafting Month with the exclusive Picture My Life™ Live Your Day scrapbooking program.  It is available for January only!

      There are so many uses for our Picture My Life Cards.  You can use them as designed in their special page protectors, but why stop there?  Add them to a traditional layout as a journaling or decorative block.  The sayings are wonderful!  Make a card with them or how about a mini album?

      I have a terrible habit of being late with birthday cards and presents.  I forget to look at my family calendar.  What I have wanted is a birthday book.  A birthday book is a small book where I can keep track of important birthdays.  Then when I am out shopping, I can easily check this book and get that important present and get it on time.

      These cards were perfect for this project.  I grabbed our new shiny Instalife Album - Black and White and added the 4" x 4" Mini Memory Protectors and started making my birthday book. I love this little shiny gold, black and white album.  The outside of the album is coated, which will help it hold up in my purse.

      For this project I also added some patterned paper from our Charlotte paper pack as well as the Charlotte complements and our cute gold Treasure Puffies.

      Here's my album cover.

      The inside cover I used some of the complements.  I cut down a 4" x 6" Live Your Day Picture My Life card to 4" x 4" so that it would fit into the mini memory protector.  Then I added some more stickease and a gold puffy.  So easy!

      January page.  On the right hand side, you can either write the birthdays on the card itself or take an Expo vis a vis transparency pen and write in the birthdays.  With the Expo vis a vis pen you can make changes as needed in your birthday list.  So this book can be used year after year.

      February pages.  I cut the Be Happy from one of the larger cards.  I used all of the cards including pieces of the larger cards when I cut the 4" x 6" cards down to the 4" x 4" I needed for my album.

      Here is a little better picture of the February left side (without the glare).

      March pictures.  The base paper on the left is a Live Your Day Picture My Life card that I embellished with gold Treasured Puffies and clear Sparkles.  I used the patterned paper from Charlotte for the base paper on the right side.  The heading, BIRTHDAYS, is already printed on the Live Your Day Picture My Life cards.
